Make Believe Tees Are Effortless Style

Make Believe’s founders are a group of friends who were inspired by 1950s aesthetics and apparel. They wanted to take the 50s simplistic and effortless look and turn it into a brand for all ages and styles.

The tops are made in simple cuts, but stand out with eye-catching colors and patterns. The line also has short-sleeved button up shirts in floral and striped fabrics for men or loose fitting tops for women. The new collection features white tees with the words “Believe” and “Forever Onward” on them, paying tribue to the brand’s motto: “We make, we believe, we make believe.”

Each piece is also made to pair well with what you already have in your closet like cutoff shorts or light-wash skinny jeans. Just put your hair up in a bun, throw on some jean shorts and a Make Believe tee, and you’ll have a fresh, effortless look.

Sen7 Brings Your Favorite Fragrance With You

For German founder Karl Kaehler, design and esthetic came first when he launched Sen7 in 2010. Kaehler said he wanted to make a product that looked like a lighter, and was different from other products in that it didn’t look cheap and wasn’t made of plastic.

Instead of just being a simple device, Sen7 pays attention to quality. The atomizer has a smooth feel and metal shell. The round shape makes it easy to pull from any pocket or bag. Sen7 also comes in a variety of fashion-inspired colors, with three new colors coming out each year to keep up with modern trends.

Sen7 comes empty, so you can fill it with a small amount of your favorite scent. If you get bored with that smell, change it up by refilling your bottle with something new!

Kaehler said in addition to your phone and keys, Sen7 is a product you should always have with you. “It’s a lifestyle and unisex product,” Kaehler said.

Breaking the Mold, One Piece of Silk at a Time

The brand was inspired by the coasts of Hawaii. Jurate had lived in Hawaii for four years and became mesmerized by the blue ocean, the colorful flowers and the rolling mountains. Violet was always very interested in art and Jurate was very much interested in fashion. Because of the similarities between both women’s passions a new and innovative concept was born.

In the early stages of Violet Luck the art was focused on nature. Violet had always been talented at drawing nature and felt it was best to stay safe in the first year as a brand. The first year for Violet Luck was all about learning. Not only learning the best ways to produce this idea of wearable art but also how to run a business in general. Something that started off as just images of nature on scarves and handbags turned into a “fusion of high end fashion and art.” Jurate’s pieces can now be worn as dresses, tops, skirts and wraps. Along with the scenes of nature, Violet Luck began to not only include nature but people too. As time has progressed Violet Luck has expanded their brand to add more depth and meaning to every piece of silk. Not only is it a beautiful piece of artwork draped perfectly along ones body, but it is a true expression of the human form and all of the meaning that can go with it.

As Violet Luck progresses, Jurate plans to continue to make these unique pieces and continue to shock the world with her ideas. Currently Violet Luck’s pieces can be seen not only on their website but in person at Art Fusion Gallery in Miami, Florida. Being able to showcase her pieces in an actual gallery is one step in the building of her brand but Jurate is not willing to stop there. Her dream is to open one of the United State’s first wearable art galleries to showcase her own work while also highlighting the works of other wearable artists. This would not only boost her own brand but at the same time showcase others who are just as passionate in the field of bringing art to life.

As long as there is silk to paint, Violet Luck will be there. These sisters are passionate about what they do and it shows in the work they have produced. By creating something new and fresh they moving the fashion industry forward and they are giving art a place in high-end fashion.

ALEXA VEGA

This stunning actress has one of the best relationships with her fans I’ve ever seen, and they absolutely love her for it! This spicy little starlet is on fire, blazing a new path with films like Machete Kills. Looking at her you might think she’s too hot to handle, but you’ll find a sweetheart of a girl underneath all the glitz and the glam that makes Alexa even more irresistible. We talk with her about her professional evolution from child actor to maintaining success and balance as an adult actor, her longtime friendship with filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, and how this next year she is taking over the world, or so it will feel like since she has tons of new stuff in the works!

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER VAULT 1

HOUSE OF LIZA presents a JEAN PAUL GAULTIER archive sale spanning the designer’s early career, starting with his first menswear collection “L’homme-Object” SS84 all the way to AW94 collection “Le grande voyage”.

Bursting onto the French fashion scene in the mid 1970’s, Jean Paul Gaultier soon established himself as the most provocative designer of his generation. Inspired by a combination of historical references, eclecticism and transgressive behaviours, Gaultier stood out with his androgynous, unflinching style which questioned gender and transgender issues. Multiculturalism and ethnic diversity were also at the forefront of his consistently challenging collections.

Mixing high fashion and street culture, Gaultier raids; then dismantles post-modern sensibilities, reinterpreting and upgrading the clothing of the alienated and ethnically diverse. He appropriates, transforms and reinvents, creating a new kind of fashion which is distinctly his own. However, despite the often controversial themes of his collections, his clothes reflect his obsession with craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The JEAN PAUL GAULTIER VAULT sale consists of 50 never-worn-before, mostly runway and editorial pieces, including the infamous cone bra knit dress from the “Le Charme coincé de la Bourgeoisie” AW85 collection – undeniably, a pioneering example of Gaultier’s earlier work. Other notable pieces are a selection of sequinned knits from the tribute to the Russian Constructivist art movement from the AW86 collection.

Marc Jacobs New York Fashion Week

Calvin Klein Closes Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2013

The name on the label still reads Calvin Klein, but the women’s collection is clearly Francisco Costa’s now.

It’s been 10 years since Klein picked the Brazilian-born designer as his successor, and Costa presented his anniversary collection Thursday,

the last day of New York Fashion Week.

“I hope it’s a little out of the box,” Costa said in a preshow interview. “It’s urban but it’s a mix of cultures.”

Nicole Kidman and Rooney Mara were among those to see the show that moved from the usual Calvin Klein Garment District spot to downtown Manhattan.

Costa said the mix of looks reflected all the sights and textures of New York when he first arrived here in the 1980s. “I was inspired by a lot of energy,” he said.

“Sometimes we forget as we get older what New York is. We think New York isn’t the same, but it is the same — we’ve changed,” he said. “It’s actually better now, there are so many forms of interaction. I hope you’ll see a patchwork of references.”

He did cover a lot of ground. The opening sand-colored wrap tank top and wrap skirt were signature minimalism, save the flash of pink lining, but over the next 35 outfits Costa offered a luxe, refined snakeskin tank and skirt; twill painter’s pants with exaggerated pockets, cuff and rear; and a black woven leather jacket with multicolored thread fringe.

The gears shifted again for a romantic white mesh-black snakeskin halter dance dress, and a black mesh-and-feather dress with a delicate halter neckline. The love affair continued — with Ella Fitzgerald’s “You Can’t Take Away From Me” playing — with a series of retro draped evening gowns.

The unfinished edges on many of the styles was a reminder that Costa’s work at Calvin Klein isn’t done.
