Travel The World Together Without Leaving The USA

New Orleans

With its French and Spanish influences, NOLA not only transports you culturally, but you’ll also feel like you’re in another time period. The famous French Quarter holds rich history and in spite of all of the fires and floods that has affected the Crescent City, it stands strong with some of the oldest buildings in the country. Businesses, hotels, and homes all have character unique to the area, but with a strong French influence—hence the name. You can sit on a balcony or in coffee shops sipping café au laits and eating pillowy beignets, or listen to rich jazz music at Preservation Hall. New Orleans is one city that you’ll want to take a guided tour in; known for its haunted past, witchy ways, and vampire folklore, there is always something fascinating to learn and see. You can also venture out to the gorgeous plantation houses or go out to the swampy bayous to get the full Louisiana experience.

Las Vegas

So maybe Vegas isn’t your idea of a “European” vacation, but it’s an easy weekend getaway that delivers fun sights and there’s always something to do! Take a romantic gondola ride at The Venetian or how about a roller coaster ride overlooking the Statue of Liberty? The Paris hotel not only has a replica Eiffel Tower, but inside, it is decorated like the streets of the city of love, with a painted ceiling of blue skies and clouds, iron benches, and cobblestone walkways. With many hotels having various city themes, you can get a worldly vacation in just a couple of days!

New York

Although New York City doesn’t really look like any other city, the people and food are as diverse as any place can be. Italian, Chinese, Mexican, Indian, Sri Lankan, Brazilian, Filipino, West Indian, you name it, New York has got it. From restaurants to delis to grocery stores to food trucks, you can find just about any delicacy your heart desires.

Disney World

Well, if you can’t do Europe, and you have some extra cash and a week to spare, you might as well go to Disney World! Aside from traveling around the globe at Epcot Center, you can feel like you’re jumping into a fairytale at Magic Kingdom.

Make A Friendly Winter Statement with Faux Fur

Winter calls for cozy, warm and fuzzy accessories. Layers upon layers of the softest material is one of the reasons we love this season so much. Fur is a huge trend, and has been for Fall/Winter for as long as I can remember in the fashion world. But for us who are seeking a friendlier option to the trend, faux fur is a sweet swap.

We’ve included a few options on how to incorporate this lux addition to your wardrobe without going overboard. Gone are the days of the oversized, floor sweeping pelts and fur coats. This winter its about subtle additions of richness and glamour.

The Vest:

If you like the look of a winter faux fur coat but don’t need that much warmth or protection, a vest is a good option. If you’re faux is a patterned texture, opt for a solid tee underneath with either solid pants or a complimenting print to your vest.

The Scarf or Wrap:

A great was to dramatically dress up an ensemble, while also keeping your throat toasty warm, is the faux scarf or neck wrap. Rich deep brown and black options make this a perfect choice for accenting formal attire.

The Mittens:

Stylish and functional, faux fur mittens are the perfect addition for any snow bunny’s ensemble.

The Coat:

The star of the fur and faux fur fashion world is the winter coat. Available is an array of styles, lengths, colors and textures, the faux fur coat is a seasonal must-have for the chilliest of days.

The Hat or Headwrap:

Top off a casual ensemble with a fuzzy faux fur hat to add personality.

Jean Paul Gaultier Bids Adieu to RTW in Paris

French designer Jean Paul Gaultier showcased his last ready-to-wear collection on September 28th at Paris Fashion Week. Gaultier went out in style with quite a show! The prelude to the big beauty pageant theme led the way with bouffant hair, French sailor stripes, a silver sequin staircase and disco music. The show featured a striptease by Spanish actress Rossy de Palma, sequined bike shorts paying homage to the Tour de France, and models Mexican wrestling.

Gaultier, who has been a huge part of the ready-to-wear fashion industry since the 1980s, surprised everyone with his announcement of this being his last show. The brand will now focus on haute couture, perfume, and collaborations within the industry.

All of the excitement and fun aside, Gaultier’s last RTW collection leaves us wanting much more. The S/S 2015 collection is bringing tons of business-sass with tuxedo dresses and pantsuits flowing into capes, as well as corsets, cold shoulder tops, and plenty of casual, but sexy jumpsuits.

Fashion Week will not be the same without Jean Paul Gaultier’s outstanding mix of elegance, kitsch, and racy.

Parisian Resort Wear With Jacquemus

Simon Porte Jacquemus revealed his SS2015 collection at Paris Fashion Week on September 23rd. Playing with shapes, stripes and light fabrics, the line reminded us of vacationing in the South of France where we lazily lay by the pool, play a round of tennis, and have cocktails on the veranda. With damp hair laying flat against their shoulders, which were bare as shirts loosely hung off of them, exposing bikini tops, models walked the runway looking relaxed with subtle make-up. Jacquemus did a wonderful job of bringing the right summer air to his comfy and carefree collection.

Paris, France: The Perfect Fall Luxury Getaway

This fall season, everyone is raving about the hottest makeup looks and fashion trends that are pouring in during Fashion Week. But we all love a little relaxation time to unwind and even do a little shopping. Getting away from the daily hustle and bustle of things is what we all dream of and Runway has a little advice on how to take that dream vacation and turn it into reality.

If you’re a fashionista, a couture queen, or just a loyal shopper and advent fashion show follower, this dream getaway could be your ultimate French fairytale come true. If you’re going to be staying in Paris, I suggest, for pure elegance, service, and experience, The Hotel Le Bristol. This beautiful, five-star, award-winning hotel in Paris is number one. The hotel hosts rooms and suites, some with Eiffel tower views, as well as lavish courtyard and gardens.

Because of its impeccable location, this posh hotel, built in 1925, carries an 18th century Parisian feel throughout and has some truly amazing eateries and amenities. The Hotel Le Bristol was also chosen as the 2014 Traveler’s Choice winner for best hotel. And if you love fashion, you’ll be delighted that Hotel Le Bristol is located just minutes from the elegant Rue Du Faubourg. This famous street in Paris is home to fashion. The popular Parisian street also features cafés, restaurants, and shopping

Just east, you’ll find the Rue Du Faubourg Saint Honore extension. Some stores we love here include; Chanel, Rue Cambon Paris (The house of Coco Chanel), Christian Louboutin, Eclairerur (multi-brand store), Dolce & Gabbana, Gianni Versace, Gucci, Prada and much, much more. Don’t leave without visiting this street, located in the arts and fashion district

If you’re a fashion guru, you’ve probably flown in for Paris Fashion Week. PFW is presented in multiple locations, and has been running this week and ending today. Get a glimpse of some of the hottest looks from the Spring/Summer 2015 Ready to Wear Collections. See what the designers have created this year while snagging some hot new ideas.

If you’re looking for fabulous French cuisine or a cocktail, check out The Bar at Le Bristol. This Parisian bar is easily one of the trendiest bars in Paris. Located downstairs, inside of the hotel, its 18th century charm is sure to delight your senses while one of their famous signature cocktail tingles your taste buds, as you enjoy the beautiful views.

For dining, I suggest some of the hotels best restaurants. Head Chef Eric Frechon is the magic behind multiple restaurants here at Le Bristol. Epicure French restaurant presents its guests with great traditional French cuisine in a fresh, innovative way. It is a great place for lunch and dinner.

If you’re looking for a more upscale experience, check out the fabulous 114 Faubourg. This restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The cuisine here is a favorite among both tourists and locals. Along the Rue Du Faubourg, you’ll find more art, history, and fashion than in most cities, and when taking a trip to the city of light and fashion, don’t forget to stop by some of the most famous spots in Paris.

Soak up the Eiffel tower, or even take a stroll to the Love Lock Bridge, which can be found around various locations in Paris as well. Many have tried to shut these bridges down, but they continue to thrive, holding more locks each year. Don’t leave without taking home some special memories, tons of photos, and maybe a little romance? Paris is the vacation of your dreams if you’re looking for beauty, romance, passion, and of course, the best in fashion.

Kendall Jenner: Fashion Week Darling

Jet setters in the fashion world saw a good number of the high-fashion model regulars on every continent they visited. However, for a new model, one who just made her debut last year, Kendall Jenner appeared on an impressive amount of catwalks for SS 2015. Known for her socialite and reality TV status, Kendall proved she is much more than a pretty face when she graced (and owned) catwalks around the world.

We have compiled a list of our favorite runway looks. From sheer day dresses to sultry clubwear, Jenner’s effortless natural look is still our favorite. What’s your favorite?

Blow Me Away: A Review of A Hot New Beauty Trend

Hair guru and owner of Dry Bar, Alli Webb is a full time mom and started her now booming business out of her very own home. It started out as “Straight at Home”, a business in which Webb would visit people’s homes with her services. Her part-time business blew up bigger than her blowouts, and Dry Bar is now a top-notch blow out bar with multiple locations. With 25 locations nationwide, including New York City and Los Angeles, it’s a booming industry that is taking place of DIY blowouts at home.

Webb has worked with many celebrities, including Faith Hill and Keith Urban, so it’s no surprise that the staff here is no less than top-notch professionals. The staff is there to give you the ultimate experience. I was a bit skeptical at first about paying for something I could do myself, but I must say, when getting the ultimate blow out experience, you start to see what the hype is all about. Not a hair out of place, smooth, sleek strands, and I was pampered in a beautiful atmosphere. Here are some of the top reasons these “bars” are becoming so popular…

  • Blowouts are the sole service offered here at Dry Bar, and they aim to make your 45-minute experience ultra-lavish. Upon arrival, you are greeted with a complimentary glass of either wine or champagne. You can also enjoy a romantic comedy movie on one of the multiple flat screen televisions they have placed around the bar for your enjoyment while you are being pampered.

  • And let’s touch back on the cocktails. Serving salon-inspired spirits, these drinks are usually served when scheduling a private party at Dry Bar. However, you can always opt to have your hair blown in a style named for their concoctions, such as the Sleek Manhattan, or try a delicious Curly Cosmo the next time you come in for the royal treatment.

After checking it out, we are convinced that these salons aren’t going anywhere. And if you find yourself really loving the experience and your results, you can open your own “ Bar Tab” which offers bundles of three, six, or twelve blow out sessions. So give it a shot, and who knows. This hot new bar may just blow you away.

Prada is Dark and Ominous at Milan Fashion Week

Last year, Prada lit up the runway with bright, bold orange for their spring collection. This year, Prada’s S/S 2015 line is a horse of a different color—black, brown, and navy horses in particular. Instead of going for a blooming spring vibe, Prada apparently wanted to highlight April’s showers. Long leather coats, belted sleeved dresses, knee-highs and rain boots were at the forefront on Milan’s runway last week. Lots of layers, almost lazily thrown together adorned each model as they walked to eerie music. Though a bit gloomy, Prada used brocade and patchwork techniques that really brought each garment to life. Key elements in each Prada collection, like longer hemlines and secretary syles, were also present.

Flawless Fall Skin for the 2014 Season

Fall in love with fall beauty as we let you in on some of the hottest fall makeup trends for 2014. Through fashion week runways and red carpets, we’re seeing new trends, and we think you’ll love them just as much as we do.

For Skin:
Don’t do the dew. Dewy skin is beautiful, and a little highlighting is always necessary, but that dewy look is out with summer and a matte finish is in for the fall and winter seasons. Try either a pressed matte finishing powder, or a loose translucent powder to take away excess oil and help keep shine at bay. It also sets foundation to last all day.

For Brows:
Full, pigmented brows are in this fall. Sometimes, people often forget just how much definition, attention, and beauty your eyebrows can draw to your face. We’re currently seeing celebrities with thick, full, combed brows. The good news? Most women have time to accent their brows so they stand out. It’s definitely something we deem important to dramatize your fall look.

For Eyes:
The smoky eye is, has, and always will be trendy. However, were seeing women opting for the Smokey Brown Eye. Referred to by an artist as the “day time smoky eye”, the trick is simply to find a light brown or mocha shade of shadow, and blend throughout your entire lid and under the lash line, and use a darker brown to add depth to the corners. The “daytime smoky eye” has been popular this year on the runway.

Metallic shadows are making a shining statement right now. Add some metallic touches to your regular shadow routine by adding a pop of metallic orange in the corner of your eyes or under the lash lines. Silver and gold tones are always a good choice, as well as metallic shades of navy or turquoise. Don’t be afraid to play around with colors, just make sure the complement one another.

For Lips:
Lip color has a large range for fall as far as colors. Choose a simple peach, pink or a dark crimson red, but do make a choice, as lip color is a must. When it’s the perfect shade, your lip color is the perfect finishing touch. If your wearing a dark charcoal shadow, or have a smoky eye, a nude, peach, or apricot color always looks great. Deep berry colors are always on-trend this time of year. And a matte finish is also popular, just make sure if your foundation and lips are matte, you give your eyes a sparkle.

Make sure to include some of these items on your holiday make-up kit shopping list and be prepared to be in style this fall. For ladies who choose to go au natural? The bare skinned look is also in this fall. So mix it up and have fun with your look all season long.
