Share Your Story with Dermablend Professional Foundation

In 1981, Dermablend was created by Dr. Craig Roberts and his wife Florid. Dermablend is a line of corrective makeup that can mask skin discolorations or modifications such as tattoos, rosacea, birthmarks, scars and much more. The line is fragrance free, non-comedogenic (does not clog your pores), non-acnegenic (does not promote acne), and is sensitivity tested, smudge-resistance and wearable for up to 12 hours.

To test these beauty problems, I decided to take Dermablend for a test run while I went clothes shopping. I was amazed when I tried on 12 different articles of clothing (one of them being a white dress) and Dermablend didn’t leave a mark! I live in the Southwest where the temperature is approaching the triple digits. With the heat, I would have to reapply my previous foundation throughout the day, but not with Dermablend. It is such a relief to be able to only purchase one foundation at a time and not carry an extra one on me. To top it all off, the lightweight foundation had a barely there feeling.

If you’re wanting to find the perfect foundation, the website allows you to find your skin tone, shop by product, or shop by skin condition. You’ll also find videos led by Professional makeup artists who show you how to use the product. If you’d rather read up on beauty advice, there’s plenty of places to find tips and tricks on the website. Even though most are not professionally educated, you’ll get the beauty education you need to apply it like a pro! With Dermablend, you’re able to put your best face forward.

Fashion Forward Dubai: Runway Recaps Season Three

Fashion Forward includes numerous catwalk presentations from top regional designers, inspiring talks and panel discussions led by global industry experts and fashion academia, as well as entertainment, through a string of social events and parties.

The event concourse also includes an assortment of accessory designers in the form of The Garden as well as The Fashion Gallery and Fashion Cafe.

Runway shines a light on three designers who presented their latest collections for Fashion Forward, along with our feature spotlight on AMATO by Furne One, which you can read here.

One of our favorites on the catwalk this season was the House of Ronald. Ronald, an emerging British-Lebanese designer, who launched his first ready-to-wear collection – X-Ray – in 2007, gave us exquisite daywear dresses and evening gowns with beautiful, ornate patterns and intricate necklines. Evoking parts of the human body through elaborate embroideries, his aim was to glamorise the inner forms and skeleton as decorative motifs.

This young, edgy creator of a women’s ready-to-wear line, is also a gifted couturier of modern, glamorous couture gowns, which was seen in this particular collection. His signature style include bias-cut gowns, elaborate draping, and creative themes of embellishments and embroideries, coupled with a passion for old Hollywood glamour and a reinterpretation of fashion’s golden age. Bold and architectural, yet sensual and feminine, his distinctive designs represent a unique interplay of western fashion modes and artisanship with traditional Middle Eastern elements and embellishments.

Another standout was Kage. Implementing the popular masculine-is-feminine look of spring 2014, designers Arwa Abdelhadi & Basma Abu Ghazaleh gave us boyfriend inspired separates in oversized button ups, loose fitting trousers and shirtdresses. Founded in 2009, by Abdelhadi & Ghazaleh, KAGE was launched with the aim of empowering women to feel beautiful night and day. Their ultimate goal is to bridge cultures while designing a collection appealing to all. The label is already stocked in various stores. Their success comes down to their vintage-style clothes that emphasize glamor, adorned with embellishments, bringing out the personality of the wearer.

KAGE’s designs are based on the designers’ affinity to create clothing that allows for freedom of self-expression and individuality. The designs tend to be inspired by a mix of magical worlds and bohemian wealthy socialites. Lace, velvet, furs, luxurious tweeds and metallic embellishments stand out in these fun, stylish silhouettes.

And last but certainly not least, we feature the three time “Designer of the Year” award winner, Essa Bhagoorwala. After graduating with an MBA in marketing management and economics, Essa honed his skills with traditional pattern cutters and tailors in Dubai. An insatiable appetite for fashion pushed his creativity, which knows neither formal rules nor traditional concepts. Utilizing vintage fabrics and rare vintage trims, sourced from Asia and Europe, Essa incorporates these details to enhance and draw attention to the delicate feminine form. From feather embellished metallic dresses to old Hollywood style furs and sequin ensembles, Essa’s designs consistently try to weave together the traditional and the modern by relying on materials and prints that have iconic cuts and are universally flattering.

Dubai Fashion Forward Spotlight: AMATO by Furne One

Having won the Mega Magazine Young Designer of the Philippines Award in 1994, Furne’s potential for innovative design was recognized and landed him an apprenticeship with Josie Natori at Natori’s New York design house. There he learned the skills he needed to create his own line and fashion house.

Now based in Dubai, the home of his couture design house Amato, he presents his designs as pure works of art. He captures the essence of the true woman and interlaces that image with true romanticism. The Amato woman is a woman who is expressive, self-respecting, real, and a little quirky. The powerful force of bold femininity is written on his every creation.

For the third-annual Fashion Forward presentation this year in Dubai, Amato presented a jaw-dropping collection of sheer gowns and daring two-pieces in an array of jewel tones. Sapphire beaded gowns, embellished with jeweled accents, swept the floor, while emerald and ruby pieces featured one-of-a-kind hand embroidery and lux fur shrugs. Intricate headdresses completed the couture looks.

Furne’s signature touch is in the mix of rich textures that he pairs with luxurious materials. Heavily emphasizing detailing and embellishments, Furne is a fan of fairytale grandeur. After closely following Amato’s success, Swarovski commissioned Furne to design a custom wedding dress for their limited edition book, Unbridaled and Furne has since collaborated with them and continues to create gorgeous, sparkling creations.

With an impressive list of clientele, Furne has worked with A-List stars such as Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum and Nicki Minaj, just to name a few. By viewing his latest collection, and those that came before, it is apparent as to why his designs are highly sought after.

The detail in his creations proves that, to him, this is a labor of love. That it is so much more than fashion and that in the pieces lies artistic passion, heart and soul.

10 Questions with Summer of Blood's Juliette Fairley

Congratulations on your film premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival. We hear this is one of your first carpets. Are you excited to get all glammed up?

Yes. Very much so. I plan to get my makeup done and hair, but I haven’t picked out a dress yet. It might be one of those poofy little bo beep dresses or a long gown.

What is your favorite part about dressing up for the carpet?

I like the pampering part of getting my makeup and hair done. The dressing up part is best when there’s a designer involved. I like going through fashion magazines to see what the latest trends are in heels.

Anything you are nervous about?

Walking in heels and I’m also afraid that my makeup will melt from the lights on the red carpet. I’ve been researching how A-list celebrities pose. Jennifer Aniston really knows how to pose so I’ve been practicing the over the shoulder look.

How was it filming Summer of Blood? Are you close with your castmates?

I made lots of friends on the set. I got to know Anna Margaret Hollyman who starred in an indie film named White Reindeer and it turns out we are both from Texas. I also got to say hello again to Alex Karpovsky from HBO’s Girls because he dropped by on the set when we were filming one of my scenes.

Any fun stories from set?

I am always on a strict diet so the bread eating scene that is in the trailer was hard because I couldn’t swallow. I never eat bread so I had to chew and then spit it out. Also, during that scene, Onur Tukel (the star and director,) was really grossing me out with disgusting food tricks like letting lettuce and sauce dribble, so it was hard not to laugh.

We saw some of the vampire makeup in the trailer. How long did it take to get vampire ready?

It took an hour to be fitted with fangs. That was the longest part. Then everyone was outfitted with contact lenses that made us look like zombies. We all took turns taking showers because the blood was so thick in our hair. Some even got on my shoes but it was easy to rinse out.

As you may know, we are a fashion magazine and we hear you are into fashion and beauty. With Spring finally arriving, what are some of your ‘must-have’ items this season?

A striped Nautica shirt, an off the shoulder dress, boxy shorts, cat eye sunglasses, espadrille shoes, gem studded dress, tiny lady shoulder bag, high waisted jeans, white shirt dress, ballet flat

How would you describe your personal style?

Sexy and classic

Who are some of your favorite designers?

Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Tory Burch, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Moschino. I could go on and on.

Within your career, you must have had some long days on set whether doing your on-air hosting or acting, If you could only bring one beauty product out of your trailer to have on you, what would it be?

Lipstick. I have a bright pink Urban Decay lipstick that pops on camera no matter how sleepy I feel on set. I also slap on a little Beauty Flash Baum from Clarins because it brightens in between takes.

Summer of Blood premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival on Thursday, April 17th. See more about Juliette on www.juliettefairley.com.

At Home Beauty with SkinCool

She also received certificates in International Business Operation and Contract Management from University of California Irvine in Irvine, California. She has previously worked in the field of Bio-Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Medical Aesthetic, giving her more expertise in the world of skincare.

In 2012, The SkinCool Ice Roller introduced a safe, at-home treatment in the skincare industry. The roller consists of two parts: the roller and the handle. When you’re not using the tool, it’s easy to snap together to store in your freezer. One important thing to note is to keep the roller away from heat, or else it will melt. There are many ways you can use SkinCool Ice Roller: before and after a cosmetic procedure, for instant pain relief of any kind including burns, minor injury and sores. Other times to use it include post workout, shaving, eyebrow threading or hair removal waxing.

Julia Hart does a wonderful tutorial video on the website, where she shows you how to use the SkinCool Ice Roller. She also talks a little bit more about it in detail as well as discusses some benefits. Hart says it’s not as messy as an ice cube facial, the cold temperature penetrates quickly into the skin, and it increases the circulation and oxygenation in blood. I had the opportunity to use the product for myself and I tried it over several days. I tried the SkinCool Ice Roller at night right before I went to bed. The first time I used the product I was taken aback about how cold it really was. It felt wonderful on my skin and although there is no time limit that you need to use it, I applied it between 2-4 minutes. The very next day I woke up and my skin felt refreshed and my eyes looked brighter! I continued my routine for the next several days of using it right before bed. Over those days I noticed that my skin felt softer, my eyes continued to look brighter and my face overall look revitalized. The SkinCool Ice Roller by Hansderma is the perfect remedy for a little boost at home.

Affordable Glasses with ICU Eyewear

Everyone needs a perfect pair of these, not just to look good in, but to also protect our eyes from those harmful rays. Just like a great necklace, sunglasses can change the entire look of your outfit.

It may take a few tries to find the perfect pair, and as you may know, stylish, quality eyewear that actually protect our precious eyes are harder to come by these days. For the most part, sunglasses are either tacky, cheaply made, and actually absorbs more of the sun’s harmful rays… or worth as much as one month’s rent just for having a silly, although fabulous, name stamped on the sides. Fortunately, ICU Eyewear has come forward to bridge the gap between affordable and fashionable, quality made eyewear. Established in 1997 by Patricia Kesten, ICU Eyewear has become a recognized pioneer in eyewear fashion and has been featured in Vogue, O, (the Oprah magazine) The Today Show, Women’s Wear Daily, Better Homes & Gardens, as well as many other media outlets.

ICU Eyewear offers many different colored frames, styles, and lens designs and the best part? They start at about $22! Women’s designs include vintage-inspired glamour with cool and modern color combinations as well as pieces with a little more dazzle with dainty detailing. For men, ICU Eyewear designs include everything from sleek and sporty shapes to timeless classics perfect for everyday. Although, don’t be fooled by their reasonable price tag, ICU Eyewear sunglasses help protect your vision with 100% UVA and UVB protection and offer polarized lenses for even more visual sharpness. Aside from sunglasses, ICU Eyewear is world renowned for their reading glasses and just like their sunglasses, they come in a variety of variant hues, styles, and prints to suit anyone’s wardrobe and start at around $23.

For our eco-friendly fashionistas and eyewear users, ICU Eyewear offers green products as they were “the first to develop and implement a manufacturing process for eco-friendly reading glasses made from reclaimed plastic, recycled metal and sustainable bamboo.” They are also dedicated to giving back. Each year, ICU Eyewear donates thousands of reading glasses to those in need throughout the world and in addition, Patricia Kesten developed the “Pink Ribbon Reader”, a chic black reading glasses adorned with a pink rhinestone ribbon in 2007 from a heartfelt request from a special customer. A portion of all proceeds from the sale of the “Pink Ribbon Reader” is donated to organizations that support breast cancer research and awareness.

So whether your style is fun and bold, sleek and minimalistic, ICU Eyewear has everything you can ask for: great quality pieces that won’t break the bank. For more information on their line and to find out what your magnification strength is, visit their website at http://www.icueyewear.com/.

Aurelio Costarella Dazzles During Australia Fashion Week

Opening the show, we got a glimpse of one of the aforementioned bodysuits. Multi-textured and designed in metallic tones, the fringed one-piece glittered under the catwalk lights. Gowns, which dominated the line, were primarily sheer, with cap sleeves and plunging sweetheart necklines, looks that simply exuded sensual femininity. Embellished with feathers, fringe and leather, sequin belts adorned the waists for a finishing touch.

For Costarella’s chosen palette, lime, fuchsia and white dominated. With white sheer gowns grabbing attention with their 3D additions, and strapless minis featuring silver sequin scales, the models appeared as inspired sea goddesses.

Costarella closed the show with jumpers and dresses in silk color block patterns in orange, fuchsia and lavender, infusing a mod throwback feel.

This collection was truly a personal favorite of fashion week so far. Stay tuned for more fashion coverage and designer spotlights from Australia Fashion Week right here on Runway Live and through Facebook and Instagram.

The Anti-Aging Ingredient More Important Than Sunscreen

But have we been wrong this whole time? Here’s the thing SPF is NOT enough to protect you from sun damage. Sunscreens block UVA and UVB rays, but those rays only account for 7% of the sun’s energy!

New research finds that infrared radiation, which makes up 54% of solar energy, also causes aging – and it might even be worse than UV rays. While there is no one product that can totally guard you from infrared radiation, studies show that antioxidants in skin care help!

We have all heard the word “free radical” and we know that they aren’t good. But now we found that there isn’t just one free radical. There are *3 FAMILIES of free radicals that age us rapidly. What can we do to stop the madness? Eat fruits and veggies containing antioxidants and use products rich in Antioxidants.

http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/features/how-antioxidants-work1

More and more skin care experts now recommend wearing an antioxidant like TRS 24/7 Defense AND a sunscreen and many of them believe that the anti-oxidant portion is the most important of the duo!

What are free radicals?

To break it down, a free radical is an unstable oxygen molecule with an uneven number of electrons. These free radicals are looking to steal electrons from your cells in order to complete themselves and the result is damage in the form of inflammation, pigmentation and even DNA damage. Basically free radicals are our enemy! The more they accumulate in our skin the more they damage our healthy cells and the faster we age!

To the good news…antioxidants are the best-known way to neutralize these free radicals before they start attacking our healthy cells!

How do antioxidants work?

If free radicals are your enemies, then antioxidants are your heroes! Antioxidants provide the missing electron, so the free radicals don’t try to take them from your skin.

Antioxidants work to stop this damaging, disease-causing chain reaction that free radicals have started. Each type of antioxidant works either to prevent the chain reaction or stop it after it’s started.

To conclude, here are 5 ways antioxidants can help save your skin!

1) Anti-inflammation

2) Skin firming:

3) Reduced appearance of wrinkles

4) Scar treatment

5) Repair of sun damage

Antioxidants help prevent the breakdown of elastin and when used with Retinols which speed up cell turnover and peptides which tell your skin to make more collagen the results are amazing! Bottom line: Remember to use an antioxidant serum, like TRS 24/7 Defense, which has 18 potent powerhouse antioxidants that wipe out all 3 free radical families. And is the only one of its kind on the market. So don’t wait any longer, start using antioxidants today!
