CJ PERRY RUNWAY MAGAZINE INTERVIEW

CJ PERRY RUNWAY MAGAZINE

What was your favorite look from your Runway cover shoot and why?

The Malan Breton black dress because it made me feel like I was the

black swan from the ballet Swan Lake.

Do you attend any global fashion weeks or runway shows?

I have attended New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Arab

Fashion Week and L.A. Fashion Week. I absolutely love fashion – the

art, the story, the emotion behind it reminds me so much of WWE and

the shows we put on. Going to runway shows inspires me in so many

ways and I have pulled a lot of inspiration in my wrestling gear from

fashion shows and designers.

Who are your favorite red-carpet fashion designers?

I have so many; I guess it depends on what red carpet it is and what the

vibe of the event and carpet is. A couple of my favorites for red carpets

include, Charbel Zoe, Aadnevik, Ralph & Russo, Malan Breton, Rami

Kadi, and Jeremy Scott.

Ever since I was a little girl, Versace was my favorite designer and

I dreamed of wearing a custom designed Versace dress on the red

carpet. Now my dream is to wear Versace custom designed wrestling

gear. I want to be the first person to really bring fashion into the WWE.

We aren’t just athletes; we are also entertainers putting on one of the

most entertaining shows in the world.

Tell us about your personal style.

I believe your style should say something about yourself without saying

a word. There are lots of different sides of me – I love to dress up and

be very glamorous and ravishing and that is the side of me you see

when I come out on Monday Night Raw as the “Ravishing Russian.”

I also travel 300 days of the year and love to be comfortable. So, I

have developed a street style that is cool sweats, boots, jackets, and

beanies. I love comics and Star Wars, so I wear a lot of comic tees

& beanies. I started to combine my Ravishing/glamour style with my

street style – I’ll pair a comic t-shirt with a dressy skirt, and a designer

belt. I can dress it up with high heels or dress it down with sneakers. If

I have to do press, instead of wearing a suit & blazer with a blouse, I

pair it with a Star Wars shirt. I feel that I’m expressing something about

myself without saying anything. That’s what your style should be – a

reflection of yourself.

Is there anything in your closet that you cannot live without?

My Louis Vuitton collection of bags. I think it’s very important to invest

in timeless pieces. Louis Vuitton bags and luggage are timeless, and the

leather only gets better with age.

Describe yourself in three words.

Risk-Taker, Ravishing, Resilient.

What is it like being a WWE Diva?

Four years ago, they changed our performer titles from “WWE Divas”

to “WWE Superstars.” The men were always called Superstars, but the

women were called Divas. I’m so grateful I was able be a part of history

when they decided to start calling women Superstars. Women should

be called Superstars because we are Stars. This showed the world

that women should have all the opportunities that men are offered. It

gave me hope to fight for all human beings no matter what gender or

sexual orientation you are. We all deserve an opportunity to pursue

our dreams. It’s an honor to be a Female WWE Superstar because

in the past four years we have been able to make history in so many

ways, from having the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble to main event

Wrestlemania, to the first-ever Women’s Tag Team Titles. I was able

to be one of the first female performers in Saudi Arabia with WWE

which isn’t just making history for WWE, this is making world history.

They told us we would never go to Saudi Arabia, but we did! We

proved them wrong! We shut our naysayers and doubters up. This is

showing little children & human beings from across the globe that you

can do ANYTHING you set your mind to! It’s an incredible feeling as a

female WWE Superstar to know that we are breaking down barriers,

shattering glass ceilings, and that the sky is the limit.

Tell us about your recent wedding to Bobby Lashley live

on WWE.

Well, it was the most talked about & the most ravishing TV wedding in

history. I was able to make history closing out the decade for WWE

with my wedding! I couldn’t be more grateful. My wedding dress was

an amazing designer @frederikaartimartesor .

How did you get started in acting?

For as long as I can remember, I dreamed of telling stories and

entertaining the masses. I minored in acting in college & I started

taking serious acting classes in LA right after college. I still take acting

classes & improv classes; I love learning and working on my craft. It’s

so important to love the journey. The journey is our life story.

What is your favorite experience acting?

That would be a toss-up between playing Gwyneth in Another Version

of You, which is now available on iTunes, and being the Ravishing

Russian on Monday Night Raw on the USA network. I absolutely love

being a villain and the Ravishing Russian is the greatest villain of all

time! She should be winning every villain award out there! Haha.

What is the most rewarding part of your work?

Being a villain who can control a crowd & make people boo & hate

me so much that no matter who comes out to face me the place erupts

with cheers because they want to see anyone come and kick my ass.

Knowing that I have the power to influence 100K people in a stadium.

I am giving them their hero to cheer for and love. Sometimes I wish I

would get a big THANK YOU from fans for being such an epic villain,

but I realize it comes with the territory of being one of the greatest

villains of all time.

Where did you learn to dance?

I started dancing with my Mommy at three years old. I was always

choreographing dances. At 9 years old, I auditioned for the Latvian

National Ballet Academy where I started dancing 40 hours a week. I

started to dance professionally as a ballerina at 11 years old.

Gown: KHOSLA JANI

Ring: ADRIANA SCARPELLI

How about singing, tell us about how you got into that.

In college, I was offered the chance to audition for a girl

group NeYo was putting together. They loved that I could

break dance in heels, so they asked me to sing and I sang

“Jesus Loves Me” and I got hired.

What’s a typical day like for you?

Waking up early to catch a 6am flight to the city we are

having a show in. We land, get a rental car, go to the gym

and work out, come to the arena early and get in the ring

and have wrestling training. Then I go and do my own hair

and makeup for the show, do the show, then drive 4 hours

in our rental car to the next city for a show the next day. I’m

very grateful I get to do what I love for a living.

Where do you go to relax?

When I’m not working, I sleep a LOT! I try to make up for all

the lack of sleeping I do when working. I love to binge on

TV shows; it’s so relaxing to me and I find much inspiration

from it.

Do you have pets?

I have two dogs! Joy and Pickles! Joy is a Pomsky and

Pickles is a Teacup Pomeranian. You can follow them on

Instagram @JoyBarnyashev

What is your favorite kind of food? And do you need to stick to any certain diet wrestling?

My favorite type of food is Mexican. I am obsessed with

chips and salsa! I would eat it every day if I could!

How do you stay in shape?

I switch my workout styles a lot, but currently I’m doing

a form of CrossFit training 4 days a week. It’s about 45

minutes long and I go hard the entire time with lighter

weights and more reps. I do the elliptical 2-3 days a week

for an hour; I put on my favorite show and just go. I also do

hot yoga about 2-3 times a week which completely detoxes

all the toxins from the body and the stretching just makes me

feel so much better. If I ever want to get on the leaner side I

up my days on the elliptical.

Any beauty secrets you’d like to share?

Wash your face with a great face wash every night, every

morning, and after every workout. Always use a good

moisturizer.

Name three things you can’t live without.

God. My family. Concealer.

Ebony Obsidian Interview

What is your favorite thing about New York?

My favorite thing about New York is the hustle. It truly is the city

that never sleeps and it’s helped me build a thick skin in more

ways than one.

How many fashion weeks have you gone to? Which

was your favorite?

Haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing fashion week yet but

hope 2020 changes that. I’m a huge fan of the freedom fashion

encourages and would love to be in the audience for shows by

some of my favorite designers such as LaQuan Smith, Estaban

Cortazar, and Prabal Gurung to name a few.

Tell us about your personal style.

Some days you can’t convince me to take off my Adidas track

pants, hoodie, trench coat and boots. All black of course. Some

days I want to be bold and rock super intricate designs with

florals, textures, jewels, and vibrant colors. Other days, well,

everything in between those two points.

Which designers do you wear for red carpet?

I’ve been fortunate to work with many incredibly talented

designers, who are now also some of my favorites, like Bingjing

Chen of BJ Couture, Isabel Lopez, Greta Constantine to name

a few.

What do you wear around the house?

Absolutely sweats, year round, but especially now in the thick of

Winter. I’m a layers kinda girl, so throw on a robe. And always,

always, comfy long socks.

Are you big on shoes, what is your favorite?

Shoes are important. As I’ve gotten older and wiser, I’ve learned

the most important thing for me is comfort. That being said, I

love a classic pump, platform sandal, and sneaker.

Tell us about Sistas and your character.

Sistas is an hour long dramedy about four women trying to

balance their careers, love lives, friendships and selves. More

often than not things don’t go as expected and so the tears and

laughter ensue. I portray Karen, who from the outside seems to

have it all. Owner of a hair salon, home, car. But deep wounds

from a newly past relationship make her question her direction

in the love department. She’s very outspoken and always loyal

to her girlfriends.

Tell us about your favorite role.

I sincerely don’t have a favorite role. Fortunately I adore every

women I’ve had the honor of portraying, for how different they

are from one another, me, and in some cases for how they

are similar. From Adrienne in If Beale Street Could Talk, Nia in

Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and currently Karen on Sistas,

each and every one has given me a tool to grow into a more

well rounded human being by showing me parts of life I’ve

never, and may never, experience.

Do you like sports? Which ones are you into?

Played volleyball as a teen. Wasn’t the best but had a passion

for it nonetheless. Took stats for basketball in high school so

definitely a fan. Watched my first Major League Baseball game

fairly recently, Oakland vs Boston, dug it. Now I’d really love to

watch a futbol game in Brazil, or maybe Spain.

What is your diet like when you are working?

My diet when working depends on the project and how present

I am. For Sistas, which was beautifully long days, it was lots of

water, protein, carbs and lots of chocolate. For Wu-Tang: An

American Saga, which were blissfully short days, it was less

chocolate and more of everything else.

Where do you go to relax?

Home. Grew up outside of the city in a small town called New

Paltz. With views of the Catskill Mountains, crisp waters of Lake

Minnewaska, and fresh air, it’s a nice break from city life. Yes I

prefer lakes to pools, any day.

What are your favorite colors?

My favorite colors are black, green and gold.

What’s up next for you?

Sistas is a whopping 25 episodes, so be sure to tune in every

Wednesday on BET at 10/9c. Hunters on Amazon Prime is

coming in the New Year and I’m very excited for people to

meet Carol.

Katy Davis Runway Magazine Interview

Tell us about your personal style.

Since becoming a mother I’ve found that comfort is key when it comes to my everyday fashion. On any given day I may need to squat, tumble or pull out a boob at a moments notice. I discovered that Free People & Gap do incredibly soft jumpsuits that give the impression that I’m put together whilst feeling like I’m wearing pyjamas, so those are now a go to for me! The older I get the more I believe in investing in classic staples. I own some beautiful heels and really good quality handbags. With these pieces in my wardrobe I can pair them with pretty much anything highstreet, Target, H&M, you name it and the look feels classy and pulled together. I also adore tiny, delicate yellow and rose gold pieces of jewellery and some diamonds here and there are always a plus!

Do you have a wide variety of shoes? And which brands do you favor?

Oh so many shoes! For a dressy night out I’m obsessed with Christian Louboutin – I have a classic pair of nude pumps plus a beautiful pair of black suede ones that always work. For a more casul night out I love Rag and Bone Booties, I have too many pairs! When I’m out and about running errands I love any sort of mule or slingback from Madewell and to my shame I still have a couple of pairs of Ugg boots that I just can’t part with!

Who are your favorite fashion designers? My wedding dress was Monique Lulliher so I will forever have a soft spot for her but I don’t know that I would say I have favorite fashion designers per say. I really believe in dressing for your own unique body type and highlighting your best features rather than being a slave to fashion. So whoever is designing the best pieces for my body at any given moment will be my favorite.

How about ready to wear designers, which brands do you favor?

I can often be found in Lulemon leggings and a James Perse tshirt. I’m a MASSIVE Madewell fan – they’re 10” high waisted jeans are my go to and they consistently sell classic pieces that are great staples for any womans wardrobe. I’m still loyal to one of my original loves Oasis (UK) as they now ship to the US. I love their cocktail attire and the fact that I’m unlikely to bump into anyone else wearing their clothes. And you can never go wrong with some fun pieces from Zara and Mango.

What brand of handbags do you like?

I adore vintage Chanel woc’s (wallet on chain’s) and I have a great Chloe everyday satchel handbag. I’m also a big fan of the classic Madewell Transport Tote. I have MUM monogrammed on them in gold!

What sparked your interest in acting?

Honestly, I never remember a time before wanting to be an actor. In fact my earliest memory is at age 3 of asking my Dad to “give” me an audition because I thought it was something that he could physically give me that would make me an actor. At age 5 I remember watching Australian soap operas at lunchtime and then rewatching the repeats at dinnertime to see if I could catch the actors doing something differently. So I suppose I’ve always had a fascination with the world of acting and performing. When I was 12 I started taking speech & drama classes at The Betty Ann Norton Theatre School that also acted as a children’s agency in Dublin. They got me my first audition (which I booked!) and the rest is history!

What is your favorite movie?

Love Actually, Notting Hill, Bridget Jones’ Diary, Four Weddings & a Funeral are you sensing a pattern here Richard Curtis…?!?

Who would you like to work with on a project?

I’m going to pick two! One Irish and one American. Sharon Horgan is an Irish actor/writer/producer who’s currently on fire! Her Amazon show ‘Catastrophe’ is side splittingly funny whilst appealing to my Irish sense of humour and her US show “Divorce” is painful in its accuracy and vulnerability. Pamela Adlon’s “Better Things” is one of the best television shows currently on the air in the US in my opinion. Her performance is raw and relatable and the depiction of her relationships with her on screen daughters is exquisite. Both of theses women are mothers who are creative and manage to combine the two flawlessly. I aspire to do the same myself and would love the opportunity to work and learn from them.

What is your favorite genre of music?

Oh that’s so hard to answer! I have sporadic taste in music – I went to see Neil Diamond at the Hollywood Bowl a few years ago and just saw Lizzo in concert a few weeks ago!

Where do you go to have fun?

I’m obsessed with podcasts. Since becoming a mother I find it hard to squeeze in reading or tv. But a podcast can always be on in the background, while I’m driving or cooking. My go tos are Dear Sugar, Armchair Expert, Guys We F*cked and The Birth Hour to name just a few!

I’ve been a bookworm my whole life but like I said balancing a book and a toddler can be challenging. My husband and I ran away to Thailand earlier this year and I devoured Michelle Obama’s “Becoming” by the pool and “Little Fires Everywhere” is currently on my nightstand just dying to be picked up…

I’m a devoted hiker since living in LA with its gorgeous hills and daily sunshine and its one of my favourites things to do first thing in the morning before anyone else in my house is awake. That hour to myself while the sun rises and I listen to a podcast (of course!) are just the best.

I have a Law & Order SVU problem. Like, can tell you who did it within the first 30 seconds of an episode problem. Thankfully as soon as I met him I got my husband on board and now we happily binge whenever we get a spare few minutes.

I will never lose the thrill I get from watching a live performance. It doesn’t happen as often as I’d like but my first great loves were plays and musicals and I’ll always jump at a night out at the theatre.

One of my greatest indulgences is excellent Italian food and my restaurant of choice to splurge at is Rao’s in Hollywood. Their red sauce can’t be beaten!

What is your favorite kind of dessert? An espresso martini

What was it like growing up in Ireland, was it different then the USA?

Living abroad now its hard not to look back on my childhood without rose coloured glasses. There was lots of outdoor time and adventures – walks, hikes, picnics, chestnut collecting. But lets not forget the almost ever present Irish rain that all these activities inevitably had to be done in! There was a fierce sense of community in my childhood too, partly because of the size of where I’m from but also because of the nature of the Irish in general. Kind, friendly and generous. There was always someone to look out for you (and report back to your Mum!).

Tell us about your favorite parts of Ireland?

Having been born and bred in Dublin I will always says the Capital first when asked this question! My Grandad was from West Cork and we spent every Summer of my early childhood holidaying in a small Cork seaside town called Youghal. I’ve left a piece of my heart there along the seafront. One of my favourite places I’ve ever performed in Ireland was a theatre in the town of Galway. I truly believe there is magic in the air of that city.

What’s a typical day like for you?

Oooof how long is a piece of string?!? If I’m in full Mum mode then it’s toddler breakfast followed by a toddler class like music or My Gym. Nap time (the best time!) then maybe a walk, errands or swimming in the pool. Then it’s toddler dinner time, bath and bed. If I have an audition or script to work on I’ll usually take a couple of hours during my sons 3 hour nap to tackle that and if I’m on set then it’s like a paid holiday in comparison!

What is your favorite brand of hair care products?

I just recently switched to using Puracy’s Shampoo and Conditioner. Now that I’m a mother and responsible for other little people I’ve made a big effort to remove toxins from our household. I love Puracy’s story. Six years ago, two best friends from Austin, Texas started Puracy with a single goal – to make non-toxic, plant-based cleaning and personal care products that were safe enough to use around their newborn daughters. Plus, every purchase helps them donate to local families in need, and supports local artists. It’s a win/win!

Alexxis Lemire

Tell us about your personal style.

I’d say my personal style is mostly street wear. I love to be comfortable yet stylish. Think Hailey Bieber street wear. She’s definitely the root of a lot of my inspo 🙂

What are your favorite designers for red carpet?

I live for a show stopping Versace gown. I also love a good, fun Givenchy or Dior look. Depends on the event!

Tell us about your favorite hand bag.

I love the petite look of a YSL bag. A cute black YSL cross body can finish any kind of look in my opinion. They’re not clunky yet can fit the essentials (lipgloss, small wallet, touch up makeup). For a larger bag, I’d go with a classic Louis Vuitton.

What is your favorite item in your closet?

For me, I love fall fashion. I’d say my favorite item has to be my long, wool , olive green coat. Whether you’re cozy or dressy, this coat polishes EITHER look. And it keeps me warm on cold LA nights or trips back home to the east coast. I don’t leave on trips without it!

Do you have a lot of shoes? Tell us about your favorites.

UGH. SHOES. Shoes are my life. I’ll take a trip to the mall on a hunt for clothes and end up leaving with a new pair of shoes and nothing else LOL. I’d say my favorite dressy pair has to be my white rustic Frye Sacha double zip bootie. I’d say for my more relax, sneaker option would be my high top tan suede adidas sneakers. Olive green is my favorite color and it has a patch of olive green on the soul and looks SO good with muted colors and yeezy type looks.

What is your favorite food?

PIZZA. Can’t live without it. Pepperoni and pineapple on the whole thing. I always say, if I had to eat one meal for the rest of my life, hands down, it’d be pizza. I just never get sick of it.

Tell us about your role of Jessie Havnell on Truth or Dare.

This role is one of my favorites to date. It was a difficult role for me to step into, as I felt like I was the opposite of Jessie. When there’s a problem or things going wrong, I’m very much the type to step up to the plate and find a solution. Jessie is very emotional and would choose to back down to something she didn’t want to do. So, for me, I had to find things that justified why she acted the way she did in certain situations. I ended up loving Jessie and understanding a lot about who I am through her. That was a really cool experience.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love to hike/run. I find hiking or running clears my mind and feels freeing. I look forward to my daily hike or run. When I’m feeling a bit lazy, I like to hang out, drink coffee (an unhealthy amount lol) and just lay in bed watching reality tv. Sounds terrible but that’s where I find myself most relaxed.

What inspires you?

My family. They inspire me everyday. My parents work so hard and support me and my dreams without fail. They have a beautiful, loving marriage and love their kids to the ends of the earth. My brother served in the Marines and there is nothing more honorable to me than serving your country. My family keeps me grounded, and they inspire me daily, reminding me to never give up.

Do you have any pets?

I have one dog named Koda. She is the love of my life. She is the sweetest little white Maltese poodle and she is the light of my life, lol. She LOVES playing fetch. She can literally play fetch all day, everyday. It’s insane, she never gets sick of it. She’s my best friend and I couldn’t imagine my life without her.

What’s up next for you?

I have a Film called The Half Of It coming out in 2020 on Netflix and I am SO excited for that. Working with Alice Wu was such an amazing experience and the story is just so beautiful. I hope everyone loves this film as much as I do.

Indian father and a Dutch mother. Modeling kind of

fell in my lap at age 15, when my aunt secretly sent

in a picture of me to the televised National Modeling

Competition. I was chosen to compete and made it to the

finals which eventually landed me in Miami to pursue a

modeling career. I am so fortunate to have worked with

many top photographers such as Fabrizio Gianni,

Steven Meisel, and Fabrizio Gianni and have appeared

in Campaigns such as Guess alongside Anna Nicole

Smith, Victoria Secret, and Corneliani and have been on

the covers of Magazines all over the world. After living

in Miami, my modeling career took me to New York and

eventually landed me in Los Angeles, which I now call

home with my sweet daughter.

Tell us about your personal style.

I am most comfortable in jeans, t-shirt and my black

Havaianas flip-flops but love dressing up classy,

sophisticated with a hint of sexy. I feel most sexy

wearing a pant suit with high heels, adding beautiful

gold accessories and showing just a touch of skin in the

neckline – leaving some imagination to the eye of the

beholder.

What are your favorite fashion designers?

There are many designers and styles I like but some of my

favorites are Alexandre Vauthier, Karigam and Georgio

Armani. I love the Tunisian new sustainable and ethical

fashion of Baraa. One of my favorite local designers is

Queen of Noise which is an Italian Brand based in Los

Angeles and I enjoy wearing the many beautiful bead

bracelet creations of “Bleu Griffin” designed by Philippe

Lee. I wear them a lot during my energy work with

animals and people.

How did you become a Reiki Master and

Medium for people and animals?

I discovered Reiki through a conversation with a total

stranger at a metaphysical store. I had never heard of

Reiki before but when she explained the healing benefits

of this vibrational energy, it immediately resonated with

me. I decided to explore my interest further through a

formal Reiki Training. It wasn’t long before I realized this

is what I was meant to do; heal and help people.

Reiki is one of the oldest healing systems often used as a

complement to conventional therapies in many hospitals.

Through clearing of blocked energy it can greatly reduce

stress and create a feeling of inner peace and harmony

so the body’s natural healing abilities can improve and

maintain optimal health. As an intuitive guide I use my

psychic-intuition to see, hear and feel information to

answer my client’s questions and concerns. In addition, I

also communicate with the afterlife as a medium to help

clients reconnect with a loved one who has passed on.

In addition I implement CBT, or cognitive behavioral

therapy, which is a technique that can help people find

new ways to behave by shifting their thought patterns. I

guide them in healing old mental and emotional wounds

that keep them stuck.

Who inspires you?

I am inspired by people who have overcome life’s toughest

obstacles to achieve some unbelievable things by adapting

themselves and a positive attitude. Former professional

basketball player Chris Herren is one such person. He is

an author and wellness advocate that has shared his story

of recovery with over 1 million people nationwide. His film

“The First Day” addresses teen substance use, while helping

refocus the conversation around addiction from the last day to

the first. I was blown away by his vulnerability in sharing his

story in front of high school students all over the country and

his profound connections with them who, in turn, have shared

their stories of struggle and strength. This film should be shown

at every high school on the first day of school. But I am most

inspired by my daughter. She continuously inspires me to work

on myself to set a good example by trying to the best I can be,

to love and support, to shelter, educate, push and nurture her.

What are your 2 favorite things in your closet?

I am obsessed with sneakers of any kind, but especially high

top sneakers. I find they can be so sexy on a woman paired

with their favorite jeans. They are always in style, not only for

athletic purposes but also give any outfit an edgy look. I rarely

leave the house without a cashmere scarf and I always have a

few of them in different colors in my car. They add a feeling of

luxury to any outfit. My favorites are handwoven in Nepal and

locally designed by my dear friend Yazemeenah Rossi.

What are your favorite foods?

I love food in general, but my favorite would have to be

the Indonesian Cuisine. Growing up in Holland you could

always find me in my dad or grandparents kitchen watching

and learning how to cook these flavorful dishes. I remember

the delicious smell standing in the kitchen watching my dad

meticulously cut all the ingredients and sauté everything in

a wok and making the sweet and spicy peanut sauce that

went with everything. Still to this day, I will eat that sauce with

anything and everything. Indonesian food for me represents

happiness, that largely involved around family gatherings with

guests sharing stories and funny jokes. One of my favorite

dishes are Sate Ayam, Nasi Goreng and Gado Gado. I have

my favorite cookbook in my kitchen “Indo Dutch Kitchen”

written by my fellow Dutch/Indonesian Jeff Keasberry to help

me make some of those delicious dishes.

Do you work out?

I get bored with practicing one type of exercise so I like to

do many different things to switch it up and keep it exciting.

From horseback riding, hiking, beach-walks, lifting weights,

motocross to rowing, paddle boarding and kayaking and I am

always up for trying and experiencing new things and sports.

I have a big bucket list of things to try…

What is your make up routine?

I usually don’t wear a lot of make up and with the right skincare

routine I usually don’t need to. All I will add is a plumping

lipgloss by Buxom, voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara by

L’Oréal, a little contouring to define my cheekbones and I

am out the door. I like the contouring palette by Smashbox

which I am currently using but sometimes I also use a bronzer

or powder that is a few shades darker than my skin, and a

foundation that is a few shades lighter for highlighting.

What’s your skincare routine?

I personally like skincare without too many steps and love

using products that are clean, natural and without any harsh

chemicals. I am using products at the moment from Karisma

Skincare that made a huge difference in the way my skin feels

and looks. I cleanse my face with the Face Polish which is a

make up remover and deep cleansing all in one, then use the

Face Elixir and finish with their super light weight SPF Formula

before I run out the door. I use their organic Honey Mask once

a day and not only because I love the way my skin feels but

also because its a quick mask. I don’t have the patience for

masks that take too long. I also use the The Better Skin Co.

Better Skin Lava Magik after a sweaty day to cleanse and

exfoliate which makes my skin feel super soft.

What do you always take to a shoot?

When I go to a shoot, there are a few items I like to bring. My

Beats headphones to listen to music in between shots. I love

listening to Reggae music which always puts me in a happy

mood. A great book. I am currently reading “ I forgot to die”

by Khalil Rafati who started my favorite juice and smoothie

bar “SunLife Organics” in Malibu. Its a true and inspiring story

about one man ultimately conquering his demons and wrote

himself a new life story. Body sheen oil by Karisma Skincare

to keep my skin glowing all day and of course skin colored

lingerie by On Gossamer to wear under any outfit we are

shooting that day.

What is your favorite movie?

I love watching true stories and documentaries. “ Intouchables”

is based on a true story of friendship between a handicap

millionaire (Francois Cluzet) and his street smart ex-con

caretaker (Omar Sy). An improbable camaraderie rooted

in honesty and humor between two individuals who, on the

surface, would seem to have nothing in common. Its funny,

emotional and uplifting. The documentary “Heal” is about a

scientific and spiritual journey where you discover that your

thoughts, beliefs, and emotions have a huge impact on your

health and ability to heal.

If you had to choose one favorite word, what would

it be?

Choice: All of us always have choices, and we are exercising

them every day, every minute, every second. Your life is a

product of choices. Choose YOU!!!

Mollee Gray Interview

You have a lot of talents. Which is your favorite –

actress, singer, or dancer?

Thank you! I get the most joy out of acting, but I always turn to

dance when I need a creative release!

Tell us about your personal style.

Oh, I am all over the place! It definitely depends on the day and

my mood. I love cute lounge sets, but also get excited to have a

reason to dress up! My everyday go-to is usually a high-waisted

pant with a crop top or tank top!

Which designers do you wear for red carpet?

I absolutely love Ted Baker and Boohoo!.

What do you like best about fashion?

I love the diversity of fashion, the ability to go bold or simple. I

also get excited in showrooms because a lot of the time certain

pieces I wouldn’t choose end up being my favorite once I try

them on.

Do you have any pets?

Yes! My husband, Jeka, and I have two fur pups! Stewie, a 6

year-old Pitbull/Shar Pei and Shiloh, a 1 year old Shiba Inu/

Terrier mix.

What do you do for fun?

I love being outside! I love to go to the dog park with my dogs,

the beach with my friends and family, or just go to Trader Joe’s

and get picnic food and sit at the park!

Tell us about your shoe collection.

I love shoes! I have a whole row of heels only, a row of boots

only, and then a few rows for all my tennis and workout shoes!

What do you wear around the house?-

Lounge wear! I could live in sweats…being comfortable is my

favorite thing!

What is your diet like when you are working?

I always try to keep a healthy diet! I went vegan about a year

ago and love it!

Tell us about your favorite role.

My favorite role is my first major film called No Strings Attached.

Most of my scenes were opposite Ashton Kutcher, so I was in

awe and learning so much every day!

Who would be your ultimate talent to work with?

Margot Robbie. I’m her ultimate fan.

What’s up next for you?-

I have some projects I’m working on and will be able to share

soon!

Alexxis Lemire Interview

Alexxis Lemire Runway Magazine Interview

Tell us about your personal style.

I’d say my personal style is mostly street wear. I love to be

comfortable yet stylish. Think Hailey Bieber street wear. She’s

definitely the root of a lot of my inspo 🙂

What are your favorite designers for red carpet?

I live for a show stopping Versace gown. I also love a good, fun

Givenchy or Dior look. Depends on the event!

Tell us about your favorite hand bag.

I love the petite look of a YSL bag. A cute black YSL cross body

can finish any kind of look in my opinion. They’re not clunky yet

can fit the essentials (lipgloss, small wallet, touch up makeup).

For a larger bag, I’d go with a classic Louis Vuitton.

What is your favorite item in your closet?

For me, I love fall fashion. I’d say my favorite item has to be my

long, wool , olive green coat. Whether you’re cozy or dressy,

this coat polishes EITHER look. And it keeps me warm on cold

LA nights or trips back home to the east coast. I don’t leave on

trips without it!

Do you have a lot of shoes? Tell us about your

favorites.

UGH. SHOES. Shoes are my life. I’ll take a trip to the mall on

a hunt for clothes and end up leaving with a new pair of shoes

and nothing else LOL. I’d say my favorite dressy pair has to be

my white rustic Frye Sacha double zip bootie. I’d say for my

more relax, sneaker option would be my high top tan suede

adidas sneakers. Olive green is my favorite color and it has a

patch of olive green on the soul and looks SO good with muted

colors and yeezy type looks.

What is your favorite food?

PIZZA. Can’t live without it. Pepperoni and pineapple on the

whole thing. I always say, if I had to eat one meal for the rest

of my life, hands down, it’d be pizza. I just never get sick of it.

Tell us about your role of Jessie Havnell on Truth or

Dare.

This role is one of my favorites to date. It was a difficult role for

me to step into, as I felt like I was the opposite of Jessie. When

there’s a problem or things going wrong, I’m very much the

type to step up to the plate and find a solution. Jessie is very

emotional and would choose to back down to something she

didn’t want to do. So, for me, I had to find things that justified

why she acted the way she did in certain situations. I ended up

loving Jessie and understanding a lot about who I am through

her. That was a really cool experience.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love to hike/run. I find hiking or running clears my mind and

feels freeing. I look forward to my daily hike or run. When I’m

feeling a bit lazy, I like to hang out, drink coffee (an unhealthy

amount lol) and just lay in bed watching reality tv. Sounds

terrible but that’s where I find myself most relaxed.

What inspires you?

My family. They inspire me everyday. My parents work so

hard and support me and my dreams without fail. They have a

beautiful, loving marriage and love their kids to the ends of the

earth. My brother served in the Marines and there is nothing

more honorable to me than serving your country. My family

keeps me grounded, and they inspire me daily, reminding me

to never give up.

Do you have any pets?

I have one dog named Koda. She is the love of my life. She is

the sweetest little white Maltese poodle and she is the light of

my life, lol. She LOVES playing fetch. She can literally play fetch

all day, everyday. It’s insane, she never gets sick of it. She’s my

best friend and I couldn’t imagine my life without her.

What’s up next for you?

I have a Film called The Half Of It coming out in 2020 on Netflix

and I am SO excited for that. Working with Alice Wu was such

an amazing experience and the story is just so beautiful. I hope

everyone loves this film as much as I do.

MARISOL NICHOLS RUNWAY Magazine Interview

It was a delight to have you today. What was your

favorite look?

Probably the orange sort of disco dress. It just made me want

to dance the second I put it on.

Whom do you love for Red Carpet?

So many. Probably Gucci and Victoria Beckham are my favorite

but I really love Givenchy, Fendi, Anine Bing, Self-Portrait, and

Chiara Boni always fits like a glove, like an Italian Vivienne

Westwood. If it’s more casual I love Alice and Olivia, ???

Ba&sh a line from France that’s recently made it to the states.

Tell us about your personal fashion and how it has

evolved with you over the years.

I was such a Tomboy growing up. I lived in jeans, a t-shirt

and black boots. Tough armor. As I’ve grown up myself I’ve

evolved and so has my taste. I’m much softer now and really

feel comfortable being a woman. I lean towards a good fit and

a classic look over a trend. I particularly love the way women

dress in Europe and I think that has influenced my style a lot.

I prefer an elegant comfort, freer flowing than structured, and

clothes that make me feel beautiful and free.

What ready to wear designers do you go to these

days? What is your current “go to” item in your

closet?

Frame jeans, an Anine Bing cami with matching lace bra, my

Tracee Nichols Roman Ring, and an oversized blazer from

Wilfred.

Do you have any beauty secrets that you would like

to share with our readers?

I swear by laser genesis. I feel like it’s the best kept secret to

amazing glowing and healthy skin.

At what age did you get started in entertainment?

19

Tell us what it’s like being part of a hit series like

Riverdale, which features such an ensemble cast.

It’s such an honor to be doing what you love and have others

loving what you’re doing. Actors feed off an audience, we

can’t do our craft without one. I am so blessed to be doing

what I love but honestly, if it wasn’t for the fans it wouldn’t mean

anything.

You have worked on a lot of amazing projects for

both film and television. Which one challenged you

the most?

Probably the most challenging was 24. There was something

so intimate about how it was shot. The cameras were always in

a screaming close up, as we say. And so to have the camera

so close on you, picking up every nuance, every thought was

readable, everything. I had to really learn to trust myself as

an actor and just be there. It wasn’t easy for me but I learned

so much about the power of stillness after that. I had always

felt the urge to “do something” while I was acting but the real

power…the real truth, for me, was just in being there in the

moment, invested and still. There’s a strength there that is just

everything.

What is one of your favorite moments on set?

Probably when we introduced Hiram the beginning of 2nd

season. We had been building him up for so long and he

was such a pivotal character to the show and to my character.

There’s this line Hermione says and it’s so petty but so hilarious

and kind of just really outlines where Hermione’s at…Hiram

says something sort of reprimanding to Veronica the first time

he’s back and Hermione backs him up with…”and she drank

your Cristal.” Just loved that.

What do you do to relax?

Sleep in and don’t fly anywhere! Lol… seriously though, just

staying home for a beat and relaxing with my daughter by the

pool or in front of a movie is my heaven.

How do you stay in such great shape?

I have followed a way of eating for the last 15 years called 1st

personal diet. It has allowed me to have “wiggle room” so I can

enjoy deserts from time to time and still live my life. Everyone

loves desert! I also work out and stay in shape lifting weights,

Pilates, and walking.

Tell us about your foundation Slavery Free World.

I started hearing about Human Trafficking about 12 years

ago but it seemed like a rumor, like a whispering campaign

that wasn’t real. Then as I started hearing more and more I

began to be shocked and wanted and needed to learn more.

When I dive into something, I dive into it wholeheartedly no

matter what it is. I began meeting with the heads of different

organizations that were working in the field. Organizations

that had been dealing in this issue for a while and I began to

learn how big, how prolific it really was. I traveled to many

states and several countries following this line, learning ore,

seeing what was needed, really needed to make a difference.

Met w/government officials, Congressman and Senators, law

enforcement and even the Executive Branch of the White House

under the Obama Administration. After learning, educating

myself, seeing with my own eyes the issue first hand I began

to get the idea of forming my own foundation to be able to do

something about it. I wanted to partner with those individuals

and groups that were effective in this fight and use my voice in

any way I could. But it was more to me than a spokesperson, a

celebrity endorsement or whatever, this was my own. I own this

problem and therefore my own foundation was the next step.

What advice do you have for fans?

It’s not really advice…more of a thank you. Thank you for being

such amazing an avid friends of mine and of my projects. I truly

love you guys, I am nothing without all of you.
