How many places do you know in Los Angeles where the Hollywood “A List” shop??? I know, you know the places that you see on video on TMZ and the nightly entertainment shows but have you ever checked out a place called UpStairs? I believe most people that don’t have a publicist who does know about it and if they do they can find this private intimate store located in Hollywood on the second floor of a hair salon.

You may not think it was much walking into a hair salon but then you walk up the stairs and you see wall to wall full of autographs. There really are alot of them and they are not your typical “autograph wall” with photos of the stars and they sign it. No, at upstairs you actually sign the wall and they wanted me to sign it for some reason but I had to decline and allow a real celebrity take my spot. Like one of the following celeb shoppers spotted in the trendy boutique include: Jordana Brewster, Jayde Nicole (The Hills), Kiely Williams from The Cheetah Girls, Bevin Prince (One Tree Hill), Vanna White, and Sela Ward, among others.

Upstairs is owned by Academy Award-nominated director Stacy (Sherman) Ray and her acclaimed Writer/Director husband, Billy Ray (Breach, Shattered Glass). Upstairs features the hottest brands in women’s and men’s fashion/grooming/lifestyle products, including: Virtue, A&G, Frankie B, Worn Free, Liv Grn, Voluspa, Nickel, and Brave Soldier, among others. The boutique prides itself on featuring socially conscious brand/products and is committed to giving a portion of its profits to various charity organizations.

One hot item in the store is deliciously soft and created for fun — “Suzanne” is part of a new cutting-edge line of tee-shirts and merchandise based on images from the 1960’s and 1970’s. Designed by sisters-in-law and business partners, Stacy (Sherman) Ray & Karen Ray, “Suzanne” is a “Un Femme Sur La Course,” (A Woman On The Run). She is a woman planning her next move. She is a woman with “a certain power”. She’s a woman with a past – with a secret.

If you have some time and can find this wonderful little shop that has clothing available for pretty much any price. If you’re good, maybe they’ll give you a nice promotion shirt that has written upstairs on a black shirt that is actually worth wearing.

Upstairs Boutique is located at 9109 West Sunset Blvd.
