Honey, The Sweetest of Bare Necessities!

The most divine women in history used honey to maintain their sought-after features, so why shouldn’t you? Cleopatra soaked in a honey bath for her smooth skin and Queen Anne of England combed it through her hair for luxurious locks.

And with honey’s humectant ability, meaning its natural power to retain moisture and soothe, there’s a number of ways to use that bear-shaped bottle for your beauty routine including moisturizing facials, scrubs, hair treatments, and more.

Honey Conditioner

Honey.com shares recipe that might be one of the quickest beauty treatments out there. Just mix 1/2 cup honey and 1/4 cup olive oil, work evenly through your hair, wait 30 minutes, shampoo, and rinse.

Pumpkin and Honey Mask

This pumpkin mask from Michelle Phan would be the perfect treatment to accompany some pumpkin pie this fall. Combine 2 cups pureed pumpkin, 4 tablespoons plain yogurt, 4 tablespoons honey, 1/3 cup ground almonds, and 1/4 teaspoon olive oil. Apply to your face, leave on for 5-10 minutes and rinse for silky, smooth skin.

Exfoliating Honey Mask

Free People came up with this miracle mask that’s great for anti-inflammatory purposes and exfoliation. Simply mix 2 tablespoons of honey with a teaspoon each of nutmeg and cinnamon. Once the mixture is thick, leave it on your face for 30 minutes, rinse and enjoy your glowing skin.

Relaxing Honey Scrub

The body scrub-one also from Free People is one of the most relaxing treatments for soothing dry skin and would be best suited for a candle-lit bubble bath. Mix 1/2 cup coarse brown sugar, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 2 teaspoons honey, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.

Looking your best doesn’t mean you have to spend the most! Utilizing nature’s moisturizer is convenient, fast, and inexpensive. Although honey is a reflection of the past, it could also be a foreshadowing of your future beauty.
