The Surrogate Movie Review

The 411: People are living their lives remotely from the safety of their own homes via robotic surrogates — sexy, physically perfect mechanical representations of themselves. It’s an ideal world where crime, pain, fear and consequences don’t exist. When the first murder in years jolts this utopia, FBI agent Greer (Bruce Willis) discovers a vast conspiracy behind the surrogate phenomenon and must abandon his own surrogate, risking his life to unravel the mystery.

The Good: The Surrogate has alot of action and a pretty good story that makes you think how close we are from this movie actually becoming reality. It’s not just an action movie with things being blown up and people being shot but a story that goes a little bit into the future and shows you how, similarily to the Stepford Wives, people can be cloned to becoming perfect. The interesting thing about this movie is it gives you an example of how much we actually rely on technology from I-phones to GPS systems. In this world, they need their surrogate and can’t live without using it.

The Bad: The movie is your typical Sci-fi movie like The Minority Report,The Matrix.,A.I. and especially I-Robot where the robots controlled most of the word we lived in.

The Last Word: If you like Sci-Fi, you’ll love this movie. Either way, you won’t be bored with it because it makes you think.

Theater, DVD, or Cable in a few years: If you do miss it in theaters, you should rent it for some good water cooler talk at the office.
